I wish to honour today (Wargaming Day), by leading our small congregation in prayer and giving us a bible verse to reflect on, hopefully followed with words from my Brother in humanity, Flip. I ask for patience with anything I say, as I am not usually very good at expressing my thoughts and ideas.
Before going into prayer, I would like to share my vision of where I would like to help lead the Church of Talossa: A board on the Witt entitled “Religion”, with sub-boards for various churches and groups that may form (especially for the CoT). If and when we accomplish this (I have submitted the proposal to His Excellency, King John), I would like to advance and begin using my webcam and video camera to host video prayers, worship, bible studies, and services. I am informing the Church of these things for the purpose of possible discussion, and to see if everyone here is in accordance with me on these hopes.
Now for a quick prayer, written in the hopes that I do not cross denominational boundaries within Christianity:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in love and thanksgiving, and ask for a blessing on our church and its members, that it may please You and bring You glory. In Your Word, You describe us as the light of the world. Lord, anoint this congregation, that it may multiply and be a beacon to our kingdom as we seek to do Your work. Anoint us, Lord, that we might be a source of hope and a voice of Truth for everyone that comes into contact with us, whether virtually or in real life. Father, we seek You actively and we pray that You might use us according to Your will. Thank You for everything You have done for us, for Your mercy and grace. Thank You for Your son, Jesus Christ, who died and rose, thereby conquering death and giving us eternal victory. In the sweet name of Jesus Christ we pray, Amen.
The following verse is found in Matthew 9:37-38. I am using an NIV translation.
“Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.”
Food for thought: The meaning here is fairly straight forward. However, there is a truth in it that most Christians would rather avoid: when a crop is not harvested it will eventually wither and die. I just wanted to bring up this truth in hopes that it will inspire you to continue seeking the Lord and to pray that we might collect all of the harvest. The salvation of our extended human family is not to be taken lightly.
Flip: I am sorry that I didn't exactly keep with the subject of "hope", but I never know where the Spirit will lead me until He has led me there.
