My fellow Christians and Talossans, I would just like to share this revelation. In this day and age it is our duty, our obligation to be learned in matters of belief. Today's young generation has fewer people with hearts on fire for God, because God has ceased to be a living and all-powerful being in their eyes, and has become more a concept. We have a world that's crying out for God, but instead turning to science for answers. And we have Christians who have not yet realized that we need have no fear of science. Au contraire, science should be our friend, and we should use science accordingly to convince others of the existence of God. I urge any Christian reading this to respond to this call to be learned and to take up the title of Christian Apologetic (defender of the faith). We should be seeking God with every fiber of our being, not shying away from Him in light of modern ideas. We must be bold, and we must be learned. If knowledge that could save souls is available to us and we're aware of it but do not use it, I strongly believe that we will be held accountable.
For a start, I strongly suggest the book "Reasonable Faith" by Dr. William Lane Craig. To continue in your learning, I recommend www.reasonablefaith.org (Dr. Craig's website). Here you will find an endless wealth of knowledge in the form of podcasts, q & a sessions, etc. I do warn you that Craig is occasionally complex, and prior knowledge of philosophy would make things easier, but it is not essential.
I also propose the starting of an Apologetics bible study based on Craig's work. If nothing else we could listen to a different Defender's class podcast every week at our leisure and then get together and discuss it.
